BB Curve 9300 password lock help

Greetings, all,

I have a BB Curve 9300, belongs to my father, and he forgot the user password. He's tried all of 7 times, there's only 3 tries left, and he can't figure it out.
Note: I am not looking for a wipe solution of entering the incorrect code ten times, this is not an option. He's not sure what photos and contacts are on this phone, and he surely doesn't want to losa anything that might be irreplaceable.

The phone was bought thru Metro PCS in Miami Metro-Dade, Florida, but is currently not in service. What would be my best alternative to bypass the code without erasing or reseting to the manufactures settings?

I thank you for any help that anyone could provide.

There is no other way. If you are in fact telling the truth, then hopefully he remembers his password or has a backup of his data. I would also hope he has his photos saved to a MicroSD card. Also, the 9300 was never sold on MetroPCS.

It's your only option, actually.

you are correct. I got confused with his last phone purchase that was a... here it is, a Samsung from Metro... Thanks for clearing that up. I have to call him and ask him to clarify that for me... one sec. And I am totally telling the truth. I just completed my entire profile on this site, business web, address, everything. fyi :)

ok, then let me see my options, or his, cause I need to use this phone for myself, although he does have an 8320, banged up though. Does the 8320 have wi-fi? I need it as a google voice phone on wi-fi...

and thank you for all your responses. I am obliged.

dc/dc & fourstingfuror: Question: The phone has two cards in it. One is a sim, the larger flat one on the bottom, and a small micro more to the top. Would these, or which one, would have all his contacts, and photos? Cause if I can transfer that, then I can just reset back to manf. settings and reboot the phone, right? Thanks in advance, by the way.

Thanks for the wifi answer, but the new one is nicer, and shiny black... Would all his contacts and photos be on one of those two sim's? I would rather save his info to his computer, then reset the phone so I can use it... keep it really, lol, he's not using it! lol

Neither the sim or media cards store contacts. Contacts are stored in device memory. Photos might/should be on the media card.

The thing to remember from this is to always, always, always back up your data, no matter whether you have password protection. Passwords are forgotten, software can become corrupt, and devices can break.

Re: BB Curve 9300 password lock help

Oh, I know this... I back up everything, usually twice (using two different systems)
This is my fathers phone... ya see, he know's it all, hehehe!
But thank you for the comment. Have a nice day!

It's a lesson we've all had to learn.

Although I do appreciate all your help & info, I just recently found out that the info that he had given me was erroneous. The BB3900 is a brand new phone with no data in it at all... No photos, contacts... nothing. New out of the box. He just lost or forgot the code. He has me hunting for an answer when there is no question...

You should not have a password if it has never been used.
