Install new set of BES5 in Exchange that already have BES4
Hi,
I am facing a big challenge on Exchange + BES ... We are using Exchange 2007 + BES 4 now. As we found many minor problems in our existing BES service. So we planed to create a entirety new BES5 which share nothing with our existing BES4. We would like to know is BES support 2 set of BES (existing BES4 + new planned BES5) in a single Exchange AD? I cannot find any document or KB in RIM which is related. Would you mind provide some hints or advise on will it work or how it can be done? Fai |

Just install BES5 as if it were the only BES in your domain. Create a new SQL database for BES 5 and it will be completely separated from BES 4. You will need a separate SRP and Auth Key in order to run them both at the same time. |
Thank you for your information. I have a follow up question. Sorry for I am noob in managing BES and Exchange.
For my situation, can I use continue to use BESAdmin in new BES5 or I need to create a new user (say BES5Admin). Fai |
For sure, you can use the SAME Besadmin account. No need to create another one.

Yup it will work fine. I have a BES 4.1.x and a BES 5 running in the same Exchange Collaboration Forest. Totally separate.
