That will work with the standard charger. I like the idea of a desktop charger, but $100 for the OEM seems a bit much…

Take a look at this one. Not as expensive, but I think it is possibly the same one they used for the 87XX and 71XX series.

That looks ok but I'd rather have on that charges from the contacts on the back (and does not have to be plugged into the phone)...

I agree - I just don't like cradles that I have to "plug-in" my phone. Just not a cradle to me if you can't drop your phone/PDA in and be able to charge/sync. If I have to plug it in there's no difference between this cradle and the regular USB charger plugged in, and the 8100 propped up against a book/monitor/cubicle wall/whatever!! I would also love a cradle that charges and syncs from the back contacts (if that's even possible).
