T-Mobile 8120, Wifi, Prepaid
I understand that the 8120 has wifi capability such that I can use my home wifi to make and receive calls, text messages, etc. since I have absolutely no cell coverage at home. My question is whether the wifi will work with the T-Mobile prepaid service. I don't see a reason why it would not since I would be getting charged for the minutes/texts I send or receive while on wifi. Also, wifi is the same as UMA, correct?

You will need to have a BlackBerry Data Plan on your account for any of this to work.
UMA is an implementation of voice over WiFi, they are not the same. |
Re: T-Mobile 8120, Wifi, Prepaid
I'm currently using a 8100 with a prepaid sim to make and receive calls/texts however I can't use the same to access the wifi function of the 8120? I don't see how a data plan is required unless the data plan allows the wifi connection to work?

It's a BlackBerry.... The data plan allows for the service books to be pushed down...
