Sim Card Error / Insert Sim Card

Hi,

My 8700g keeps having this problem. SIM CARD ERROR or INSERT SIM CARD. I have purchased a new SIM card and still no luck. I have rebooted the device several times and taken the SIM Card out and put back in 100 times but still no luck. What is going on?

Just some more information: I have a 8700g, but the carrier I am using is Rogers in Canada. So my SIM card is with Rogers and the unit is unlocked.

I had that issue when using the 8700c. I found that the SIM card fit in very tight, and I just was not pushing it in all the way. Double check and make sure that you have it fully inserted.

I did what you told me to and it worked...for about 1 hour :) Then back to the same deal. However, I took someone elses SIM and put it mine, it worked and then put mine back in and now it worked...so basically it has been up for about 2 hours now...let's see how long this lasts for:)

Take the card and BB back to a dealer they will replace it for free. I had similar problems with a simm card back when I had a RAZR, and I waited too long. I waited until it could no longer read the SIMM card. Dealer still replaced the card, but I lost all the contact info that was on it and there was nothing they could do. While it still has some "life" and if you have contacts stored on the SIMM take it back before it dies and they might be able to transfer the info for you. Regardless whether you have any contact info on the card or not, take it in to have it replaced, you are living on borrowed time.
