Creating Out Of Office in BES server
Hi,
i wanted to ask, is there a way on the Blackberry Administration Service console to create an Out Of Office ? I've looked around the menus and i could not find such an option. I know that this can be done on the BB device itself, via Outlook and using Outlook Web App is there a way to do it on the server side for a user? I have asked Google and have not found any threads regarding this functionality on BAS Note that the version we are using is Version 5.0.4.27 |

Not that I know.
If the problem is, you want to setup an out-of-office notification and you dont have the users password: If you are the admin of the bes, you most likely have the besadmin password. login as besadmin on a pc, create a new outlook profile, manually setup an exchange profile, disable outlook cached mode, and type in the users name in question. Then you can setup the out-of-office notification in behalf of the user. |
Re: Creating Out Of Office in BES server
I suspected as much, the only reason i ask is because we had a call from a user asking us if we could do remotely for a BB user so we ended up doing via Outlook web app by logging in as the user and doing it for them.
Strange how i would have thought that you could do this functionality since you can create things such as Auto signatures on both the device and the server side. I naturally thought that anything you could do on the BB you could do on BES Thanks |
Re: Creating Out Of Office in BES server
My thought is your asking the Admin to do more for a lazy user. A few users easy , hundreds, big problem.
OOO is easy to do for even the least able user. |
Re: Creating Out Of Office in BES server
The BlackBerry Enterprise Server supports the out-of-office service included in IBM Lotus Domino version 8 and later. To use this feature, you must run IBM Lotus Domino version 8.5 SP1 on the computer that hosts the BlackBerry Enterprise Server.
