Brand new battery problem

Hi

I own a Blackberry Curve 8520 for over a year now, and suddenly the battery only lasts for 7 to 8 hours max, when I'm not using the phone (No music, internet, SMS... nothing).

I only have 5 applications on my phone, and none of them are running in the background. Also none of my applications are updated automatically. I use the lowest brightness and I often clean the memory of the phone.

I bought a new battery (authentic) and the problem was still here. I also borrowed the battery from a friend's 8520, that lasts at least one day on his phone, and the problem was still here.

I never leave the phone on charge when the battery is fully charged.

I just did a complete wipe of the phone with CL Commander and reinstalled the latest OS for the Curve 8520 today, nothing has changed..

I'm out of ideas. Do you think this can be a hardware problem?

Thank you for your help and sorry about my English.

Julien

It could be a hardware problem, but it could also be your charger damaging your batteries.

Hi

As I said earlier, even when I try with my friend's 8520 battery, that works well for him and that has never been charged with my charger, I still have the problem.... That's why i doubt my problem is battery related

I never said it was a battery problem. I said it was a problem with your charger (i.e., your handset) or your charger.

There's isn't any reason why the phone itself would be eating battery life so quickly. I would just wipe your phone, get a new battery, a new charger and let it charge for 6-8 hours without even touching it. Then your problem should be sorted. Does blackberry have any kind of "battery stats file" like androids do? Perhaps you can "teach" the phone when its charged if you get what I mean?
