BES Provisioning

Hi everybody,

I have a bit of a problem here in the UK. I have been asked to do a bit of software testing on a Blackberry which is linked to BES. My current (spare) handset is a Blackberry 9720 7.1 Bundle 2910 (v7.1.0.1083) Platform 9.105.0.18. It was provisioned for BIS but this has currently been removed as I wanted BES not BIS. The cloud based BES server is being supported via a company in India.

My sim provider (Orange) has now admitted they no longer support Blackberry in any meaningful way and cannot provide me a BES plan (I am currently on a PAYG plan) - Vodafone seems my only current option but they want a 12 month contract which I am reluctant to take out for a few weeks work.

So,
a. is there any other provider out? that might be ok with BES/PAYG or is a contract the only way forward?
b. perhaps I should ask for a sim from the support team (India)?
c. Will any BES provisioned sim work for me (i.e. I might approach a company which has a BES server to borrow a sim for a few weeks - will it attach it to the Cloud BES server ok or would it be only provisioned for the company that lent it to me?

Thanks in advance for your assistance

Re: BES Provisioning

The Phone will work within the limits of the type of radio installed. If it worked on Orange before then look for a provider of "hosted BES " service. There are a few I found on the internet doing a Google search.

I doubt you will find any company willing to "lend" a SIM but maybe.
