new 7100t owner with small problem
 

I just purchased an unlocked 7100t (t-mobile) I am using it on Cingulars network. I have been able to get everything to work exept for sending text messages. I can receive them but not send them.

It says: failed to send message packet error

Any help would be appreciated. Please make any answers simple because I am not very good with this stuff. Thanks

At the top of the screen, does it show GSM, gprs or GPRS?

I figured it out my screen said GSM.

my sms said GPRS so I clicked on GPRS Preferred

Yes, GSM will only allow Voice and Text. GPRS will allow voice, text, and data. From the way that it was explained to me.

GPRS is just the data extension of GSM; it will not do Voice. It will allow for a data sending of SMS, although a lot of providers have this disabled since it circumvents the entire text message revenue stream.
