Cleaning the trackball...

Is cleaning the trackball possible? Like is there a way to take it apart and clean it with a cotton swab or whatever.

I would just replace it. The problem with the Bold and the Tour is the fact that you must totally disassemble the unit to reach them. Not that difficult if you are patient. There are step by step instructions. The replacement trackball will cost less than $12 and you can get them as cheap a 5$ on Ebay.

Good luck!

But it will void the warrenty so if anything goes wrong with your phone you will have to pay for it.

If you carefully remove the hex sticker it can be replaced without leaving indication that the device has been disassembled. If the device is still under warranty by all means return it if the trackball isn't functioning properly.

Nothing is wrong with my trackball. I just want to keep it clean and working properly for as long as I have this phone

Q-tip and alcohol. Roll it around with the wet tip and then the dry tip.

I did it at home, but be CAREFUL!!!

My ball froze today (no, no, on the 'berry).
After pulling the battery 'bout forty-eleven times, doing a backup and restore operation, I took my handy dandy little spray can of electrical contact cleaner, shook it well and gave the wee-ist squirt into the trackball.
Replace the battery and eh vola, she work!
