No sound through earpiece but ok with speakerphone ??

My Pearl's earpiece just went dead! I hear nothing when I take a call. However, when I switch to speakerphone, it works.

I tried resetting.

Anyone have any idea what's going on?

Sounds like hardware failure. Have noticed quite a few pearls with this issue. If it's under warrenty take it back. Don't fall for the you need to upgrade your OS that TMO will put you through.

Problem with my ear piece too! Happened today also! Ive tried a reset and no luck either. Speaker phone mic is fine. Please help!!

Out of warranty (it's been over a year).

What do you suggest? I have heard about this 8130 but I guess Tmo doesn't have it yet.

Well I am not sure how mechanically inclined you are but you can but the part for 29.00 at Cellphone Repair Service Center Cell Phone Repair Shop Cellular Phone Repair Service Shop

LOL - I bet it involves soldering which would probably make me screw up the phone even more.
