Internet tethering?
I have a 8530 from Verizon that I got a few months ago. I have the $29.99 data plan. My question is if I do the internet tethering of my BB with my new HP Slimline PC, will I have true unlimited usage thru this verizon internet plan? I download a lot thru FTP on my PC using a local wireless carrier and if I begin using Verizon tethering thru my BB, I just don't want to be surprised in a month with a whopping Verizon bill. I have read some on how to tether a PC thru my BB, using an app of some kind, and sounds like an awesome deal. If anyone can chime in with personal experience or any tips, it would be much appreciated.

Check the FAQ for an article on using your BB as a modem.
I think Verizon requires a tethering plan, otherwise you will probably get that huge bill, And unlimited isn't really unlimited, it is 5 GB, which is a lot, but might not be enough to tether. |
Why don't you try out Tether, theres a free trial. You shouldn't see and overage charges unless you go over your data limit, or if your carrier charges for APN settings. It runs through app data so you don't need a tethering package.
