Pictures won't save on my Curve 8530

I have the recent OS update.

I have available space for more pictures, but when I take the picture it doesn't save in my media folder (initially).

I thought it was odd so I shut my phone off via reset (alt aA delete) and went into my media folder and the pictures that I took were in there.

However, when I went to take a picture (and view it in the folder) the same problem occurred.

Anyone have any ideas what this problem is?

Go to media - options- format card. See what happens

I don't have a media card.

try removing the battery, wait 30sec, then put it back in. The type of reset you did doesn't always clear up problems.

Hmmmm. The device is generally designed to have pix placed on media cards. Not saved within the device

I've never had this problem before, have around 50 pictures saved on the device, with room for 40+ more.

Don't know why it's acting up.

How big is the pix? and what format?

canhockjmg 09-25-2010 11:26 AM

Everything is standard from the original settings...

Pic sizes vary.. but generally "Large" or "Medium" .jpg file

(When I change the sizes I have 44 available images for Large and 108 for medium)

Still not saving, the files still only appear when I do the reset (alt aA del).

Took it to a Verizon store today... they "have no idea" what happened. Figured they'd have no idea though.

Need the media card & you'll have to format card to use it.
I have Curve 8330. My phone wouldn't keep any pictures after device saved a certain amount it would still take pics. Nor did it record video; found out card is necessary if you plan on recording video.

That's the thing.. every picture I take saves... eventually on the device itself.

Your phone is a different series than mine(8330). Mine has way less memory-hence the media card... ;)

Ahh- gotcha... I still have 92mb of space left.

Took it to Verizon again.. they "don't know" what's wrong because every other function is working.

I am having the same problem. Newer curve. It was saving pictures just fine for months then all of the sudden it wont save them. I cleared out ALL the pictures on my phone to make sure there was plenty of room.

It will still email them so i have to email every picture i take so i'll be able to save it to my computer.

I started having the same problem recently. Taking and saving pics fine, then one day it just stopped. I popped out the memory card and put it back in and suddenly the pictures were there. Very strange.
Same thing with some music I had loaded onto it. Wasn't showing up until I pulled and replaced the card.
