Need:OS question and Desktop Manager

I have unlocked my phone and am no longer on Verizon. The version listed on the phone says: v.0.0.713 (Listed under Options/About) The current OS is: OS: 9550 5.0.0.1754/5.0.0.1082xxx65279; That version number looks like it is a lower number than the one currently on my phone. Should I update the OS to this one since it is the most current? Also do I need to do a complete wipe w/ BBSK?

I am having trouble with my phone.(buttons not working, phone ringer not working) I have done a hard reset. The above items came back but the ringer comes and goes. I am using an international SIM card that runs on T-Mobile. Should I update the Service Books to T-Mobile?

How do I know which Desktop Manager to use for the 9550?

Re: Need:OS question and Desktop Manager

The latest version of Desktop Manager will be fine. Has nothing to do with the device model.

An OS upgrade probably is not going to fix the problems you describe. It wont hurt to do it just to satisfy yourself, however.

You do not need to wipe it first for an upgrade. You do need to delete the vendor.xml file if the OS is released by another carrier .... see the directions in the "latest OS" post for your model.

On the service book question, see http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...-t-mobile.html.

I appreciate you taking the time to reply. Being new to all this is difficult when every step is a mountain!

The thing to do is take it one step at a time and don't get impatient. When you are done you will see how easy it really was. Just takes time.
