Use BB with different Carriers BIS Data plan
Hi,
I am on Telus network with a BIS data plan. I have never created an account nor have I registered my handset (PIN/IMEI) on the Blackberry Telus website. We are using our own address on Exchange server/BES EXPRESS and have activated our handsets through USB connection. One of our users is travelling on vacation and wishes to get a BB Prepaid plan with BIS data in local country. The actual handset is unlocked. To avoid excessive data roaming charges - will it be as simple as a sim swap and all should work including company email? I have been reading this forum extensively but have not yet encountered any threads similar to my scenario. All that I have read is to request the current provider to release the PIN - but the PIN was never registered in the first place so there is nothing to release. correct? Can someone please explain if this will work. Thanks |

Re: Use BB with different Carriers BIS Data plan
If the user is on a BES receiving push email on their device, the carrier has the PIN/IMEI registered. That's the only way it works.
So, if your user travels and swaps the SIM out, no, the BES Data (email, etc) will not continue. |
