True dat Zombie.....But most site owners take positive action to eliminate the issue. Throwing up one's hands and saying it is their fault is not exactly the most effective method. At least not for the members.

When is the last time we saw BB FAQS? Pretty much says it all to me.....

Sometime last year I think, just after it was hacked.

The FAQ's were/are woefully outdated, but your point is taken.

There was still some good info there. I would have copied some of it if I'd known ahead of time it was going to be taken down.

Wondering if the slow down with posting questions is about this site failing or the lack of confidence in Blackberry surviving:-(

Crackberry is busy and the RIM forums are plenty busy. This site is it's own problem. Not even the owner cares about it.

Re: Site going down?

While there are clearly problems with BlackBerry sales, that has nothing to do with this failure of a website.

I'd have to say the former.

Case in point - the Z30 has been on the market for months. No dedicated forum for it. That's just one small example.

Re: Site going down?

That's because the owner doesn't care and neither does anyone else. I'll ask him to add it.

Would that involve him logging in?

Well, he managed to create a Z & Q section, can't be that difficult. Hope he has the time.

Re: Site going down?

The point isn't adding a Z30 section; it's not being a deadbeat site admin. The issue of site traffic is sort of a chicken/egg situation: if the site is inactive, users aren't going to come here for support. If people don't come here for support, the site becomes inactive.

This isn't news to anyone, but the best thing Tom can do to increase traffic is to provide a good reason for users to come here in the first place. I'm not a site admin, never have been, but it seems like a logical thing to do.

The Google checks still come in. Must be enough to keep it running.

Re: Site going down?

The site gets enough hits (just too many spammers) and no repeat business.

Re: Site going down?

Maybe a few more Admins with the ability to add sections would help. It's not difficult but if the "owner" is too busy maybe it would help.

The server was replaced a while back. It shouldn't be going down anymore.
