Priv not transferring contacts to BMW X3 2011

I can pair my new BB Priv but it fails to transfer the phone book or do the hands free. Any thoughts?

Re: Priv not transferring contacts to BMW X3 2011

I checked with a couple of people using the PRIV and other BB's all work with their cars. I have three different BB's paired with my GM vehicle and all downloaded full list and when I turn on one it auto connects and is hands free. I also need to keep it out of the case so it does not prevent HF operation.
that's the good part now for the bad. A couple of users I talked to who own BMW's have had big problems with pairing. Not just BB's but all cell phones it seems. BMW does have a site for info but regardless of the county I select it was in the German language. I don't read that language so here is the link and maybe you can get some info. Very frustrating that BMW does not offer clearer info.

This ink will ask for the vehicle manufacturer and from there transfer you to the manufacturers site.
good luck

BlackBerry smartphone and vehicle Bluetooth compatibility and pairing

Edit;
I was able to access the BMW site and discovered they offer different capability's depending on the car model. It may be the cost of the hardware installed in the car. The high end cars do support the OS10 versions of the BB's. I was not able to get info in the 2011 X3 type. It may be they offer software upgrade for your car if it does not work.

I thought the Priv was Android

It is. Only thing BlackBerry about the Priv, is the logo.

He should be looking through this link.

Checking BMW's iDrive website for troubleshooting tips. If you have iDrive)

You can also export contacts to the sdcard and download Astro or some other type of file manager and when you connect to your car send the contacts via FM (File Manager) or find some type of BT transfer app in Google Play.

Re: Priv not transferring contacts to BMW X3 2011

The site I referred to was a Blackberry link that forwards to a BMW site for customers to set up their phones. BMW like other car company's offer various help links. The first time I used it it somehow thought I was in Germany and everything was in German. Eventually I was able to get English and the info was there for Android phones and other types.

Re: Priv not transferring contacts to BMW X3 2011

Yep BlackBerry would be a good guide for him if he was using one. He isn't. BMW would be a great site if he had problems connecting, he doesn't.

He has already connected his Android smartphone to his 2011 BMW X3. What he cannot do is xfer his contacts to his BMW and the site doesn't really help with that at all.

Also, the BMW site is in German, and you can choose whatever country you are in, but the site remains in German. changing the /de/ to an /en/ is the easiest way to get the English page(s)
