Cracked trackpad on Verizon Bold 9650...known issue?
 

Has anyone else experienced a cracked trackpad on their Bold 9650? My wife and I got the 9650 last summer, and it cracked on both of ours this past January. At the time, I called Verizon and explained the issue, and they shipped replacement phones right away, no problem. Apparently they don't hassle you if your phone is still under warranty?

Well, the trackpad cracked again a couple days ago, but I haven't been as successful in my calls to Verizon. One rep told me that he couldn't proceed with a replacement, but could transfer me to another department that might be able to; if they find that the cracked trackpad is a "known issue" for the 9650, they will happily replace it. The guy looked around for about 15 minutes and said he couldn't find anything.

I just have a hard time believing that this isn't a more common issue when it has happened to me 3 times. I'm really not wanting to order a replacement trackpad and fixing it myself, because (a) I'm afraid I'd screw it up worse, and (b) I really just need it to last a couple more months until I switch to an iPhone.

I know a post here won't put a replacement phone on my doorstep, but I wanted to see if anyone else has had the issue and if they were successful in getting a replacement phone.

How can it not be a "known issue"?

A quick google search for "Blackberry cracked trackpad" shows a few hits... It looks like you're not alone.
