Visual Voicemail Working
3 Attachment(s)
Although I initially received the same errors that everyone else posted about, Visual Voicemail is finally working for me on the Blackberry. I'm on an iPhone data plan, and I was using Visual Voicemail on the iPhone.
A few days ago, Visual Voicemail prompted me for my voicemail password, which it had never done. I entered the password, and it has been working ever since. I suppose AT&T will be rolling this out soon, but so far there has been no mention of this internally. |
very interesting!

With wich OS does it work for You?
Is it network dependent? Are there more people with Visual Voicemail working. Erik |

If I recall correctly from when I used an iPhone, this has nothing to do with the iPhone data plan specifically. There was a separate line item for visual voice mail. I suppose, in theory at least, a nice CSR could just add the visual voicemail line item to an existing plan with BB data, and it would work.

has anyone else gotten this working?
|
mine doesn't work.
.219 on ATT |
Visual Voicemail is part of the iPhone package. It cannot be added independently. However, I think at one point I saw a separate Visual Voicemail feature for $7.99.
I'm running 4.6.0.219. All of my BES features continue to work. |
Notice any new service books?
|
.219 here too...And I get the "PROVISIONING UNSUCCESSFUL" message...

You can access the internet via wap...but there would be no connection to BIS at all...lower case edge in fact....... |
I don't even see the icon on 219 w/Rogers
|
No icon for me on a Rogers branded Bold on AT&T (.219 installed).
|
i dont get it now either after i unbranded my att bold,
|
If this is a service books dependent feature (as opposed to only a cod file that gets installed) then technically any Bold on ATT should have this icon right? I am thinking it is similar to all the other "junk" icons like XM, MusicID and others that get installed on the phone?

look in the DOWNLOADS folder
|
I don't see it in the downloads folder.
|
Ok find the file net_bb_vvm.alx file in the usual places (same location as Blackberry.alx file). If you do not have the OS installed on your desktop, install it.
Edit it to reflect the vendor ID of the BB you are using. For Rogers it is 107. Update the apps on your BB using Desktop Mgr. |
Is it possible for someone to post the alx file to download so I don't have to download OS .219... I'm on .210 now and don't wanna do the whole upgrade..
|
I don't think that will work correctly. The support really came in with 219.
