Internet + BB services not working
 

Hi everyone,

I have a blackberry curve 8520 with a vodafone prepaid data plan and ever since I went on vacation last week it was working just fine. But I went to the States (I live in Germany) and kept the phone on but switched roaming off. When I got back, my phone could not connect to the internet and consequently all bb services do not work. I contacted my data service provider and they say my sim is ok and the plan is active. Nevertheless, it's showing GPRS /EDGE on my phone but I'm not online. I also can't use wifi, although it shows me that the connection is active. I can't download the service books either because my internet on the phone is not working. (Although all service books seem to be still there). Anybody have an idea what to do?
I'd really appreciate your help. It's been driving me crazy for the past days.

Pull the battery and see if it helps. If not then I would suggest a call to your provider and check the service level you have. Most carriers require a blackberry data plan, yours might or might not.

In rare cases a device will sometimes fail to connect after an extended period of roaming. You can try removing the SIM card and rebooting. You'll get the error message about inserting your SIM card. Then remove the battery and put your SIM back in. Hopefully it will then connect to your home network.
