Best way to prevent "Butt Calls?"

What's the best way to prevent an 8703e from re-dialing or speed-dialing a number inadvertantly?

I'm religious about using the "Lock Keypad" feature, but it can be defeated if the thumbwheel or certain keys are accidently depressed.

Is using the belt clip the only way to prevent accidental calls? At times I like to carry it in my pocket – a throwback from my clamshell days.

Wait, I don't have an ex-wife. Or a wife for that matter.

Anyway, Alt+Enter to stop unintentional calls.

"Butt Call" is a technical term used by 911 call center folks

"Butt Call" is a term used by 911 call takers to refer to silent cellular calls caused by someone sitting on their phone and inadvertently depressing a pre-programmed 911 key. This reached epidemic proportions a couple of years ago when an estimated 50-60% of all silent calls (no voice from the caller) were from cellular users.

This is decreasing as public safety authorities lobby cell phone manufacturers not to ship phones with autodial keys pre-programmed to dial 911.

Or aquick tap of the "k" key.

I really wish there was a way you could "hard lock" it w/ password OR "soft lock" it for just the key pad. :-(
