Changing provider icons and screensavers
I am have just switched from Cingular to Tmobile and am still using my cingular 7230 (it was not locked). Is there a way to get rid of all the cingular icons, screeensaver and wall paper? Is there a way to load all the Tmobile icons? I was so traumatized by cingulars poor customer service I break out in a rash.

Try loading the TMO OS http://www.blackberryforums.com/showthread.php?t=1871 but first read this part of the same faq "I Installed 4.0 OS from another carrier. It doesn't work!"
If you do a search for javaloader you can wipe it first. |
Loading another carrier's version of the OS will not do anything with the branding. As far as T-Mobile icons, you should get the T-ZOnes browser and e-mail icons when you register. But you will not be able to change the original splash screen. Maybe the screensaver - but I don't think so.

OS did not work
Loading the O.S. did not work. But it did give me some great additional features.
As for the Icons. , I still have the cingular web browser icon and I still get the cingular "be safe " screen when I power on and power off. I know this probably sounds petty, but I really want to get all the cingular stuff off of there. |
I've been thinking the same thing about my Cingular-Blue BB7290. It still boots up with an ATTWireless logo/splash-screen. I figured maybe someday Cingular would get these phones updated somehow.
Actually, when 4.0 was released I kinda expected it. Oh well. Steve |
