Preinstalled Applications Missing

Greetings,

I just did a Repair from BlackBerry Desktop, and now the following preinstalled apps are missing:
None of the missing apps are in BlackBerry World. How can I reinstall them?

Thanks,
Shane.

You'll need to do an update from the device now. Some of those apps are carrier-pushed.

When I tap Settings > Software Updates > Check for Updates, it says "You currently have the latest software installed".

This is a screen-shot from the BlackBerry website:

Since this image is from the BlackBerry website, it looks like the missing apps (outlined in yellow) are preinstalled for everybody. BlackBerry also has a list of preinstalled apps.

I was able to find some of the missing apps in BlackBerry World (BW). But the apps in my first post aren't in BW.

Does anyone know how I can download the missing apps?

Thanks,
Shane.

EDIT. Never mind. I missed this is about a PlayBook.

If it were me I would reinstall the PlayBook OS.

When you say "reinstall", do you mean a Repair from BlackBerry Desktop? Because this is actually what has caused the apps to go missing.

Does anyone know a place where I can download these apps that come preinstalled on the PlayBook?

Thanks,
Shane.

I'm not familiar with "Repair".

So, a repair is like a security wipe. Well, it says some applications will be deleted, so it wasn't wrong.

At the link the text says reloading software. Well, whatever, something went wrong. You should not have lost the stock apps. I did a security wipe one time and lost the stock wallpaper files. Shouldn't have happened, but it did. I reloaded the PlayBook software to get them back.

There is a way to reload the OS by rebooting the PlayBook while connected to the desktop software. The desktop will prompt you that it can't communicate the device and ask if you want to reload/install/whatever the device software. You will sometimes see it referred to as unbricking. You could try that, or try the "repair" again. Personally, I would do the "unbricking" procedure.

I did a Security Wipe, but it only left me with three apps (Browser, BlackBerry Bridge, and Setup). Even BlackBerry World was gone.

I'm sorry—I'm probably using the wrong terms. When I said I did I did the "Repair", I was referring to the steps quoted above. I just called it that because to begin the procedure I had to click the "Repair" button (pictured above). These are the steps that reinstalled the operating system and the apps that I downloaded, but not the preinstalled apps, which I'm missing.

I anyone knows how I can get these apps, please let me know.

Thanks,
Shane.

I have told you what to do. If you need instructions written out for you, see KB34045-How to clean reload the BlackBerry 10 OS or BlackBerry PlayBook OS using BlackBerry Link

Those procedures are for using Link. If you want procedures using the old desktop software, then search and you will find.

Remember, you need to run through the setup after you reload the OS.

Again, this is what you need to do. Whatever you did before, forget about it. Follow the directions above and reload the OS.
