OS: 9700 5.0.0.1111/5.0.0.656 (All Languages)

BlackBerry Handheld Software v5.0.0.1111 (All Languages)

Package Version: 5.0.0.1111
Consisting of:

* Applications: 5.0.0.656
* Software Platform: 5.1.0.153
* File name: Turkcell_Blackberry9700AllLang_PBr5.0.0_rel1111_PL 5.1.0.153_A5.0.0.656.zip
* File size: 149MB

Note: The Software Platform and Applications version numbers can be found under Options-About screen on the handheld.

* Download Software: http://www.turkcell.com.tr/downloads...A5.0.0.656.zip

Instructions for installing on ANY carrier's 9700:

1. Download the above OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml." Vista/Win7 users: In the apploader folder, simply click on "Compatibility files" to see the actual Vendor.xml file. Once you've got that - simply delete the vendor.xml file there (even if you've deleted or think you've deleted it in the folder previously) and voila, it will allow you to update to the newly installed OS!
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a black "BlackBerry" screen with a status bar for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."
If, for some reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to the PC again and run Loader.exe again, and it should load the OS to the device.

For the previous OS, see this link: http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...a-english.html

Nice, stickied!

Grrr... I just installed the multi language version and really needed the all language version, looks like it is time to reinstall.

Does anyone know what will happen if I install the same exact package with the only difference being multi versus all?

It should just add/remove the components that are different...

snhrph 05-12-2010 06:37 PM

Any significant differences from 5.0.0.1022 that make this version a must-have? :smile:

sid_kid 05-12-2010 07:49 PM

is there normally a language selection for English US or has it always been English UK?

fonejunkie 05-12-2010 08:16 PM

US English is included in every OS release that I have seen... the others (including UK English) are available as optional.

sid_kid 05-12-2010 09:20 PM

you are right! English US is the default, I became confused when I launched Loader.exe and English UK was checked, apparently I had installed it the last time I updated my bb software. thanks for the info...

Is the all languages version include East Asian languages such as Chinese, Janpanese?

wibbly 05-13-2010 10:34 AM

Anyone yet know if this is considered a step forward or backwards in any way compared with 5.0.0.1022/5.0.0.593 (based on the fact it was previously leaked)?

I have already seen http://www.blackberryforums.com/beta...ld-9700-a.html so just asking if anyone has any more to add...

Yes it does.

After installing this version of the OS, I seem to have lost the Mass Storage functionality on my installed media card. I can access the media card from the BlackBerry device, but when I connect my 9700 to my laptop, I can no longer access the media card. The options for the Memory settings are all unchanged from v .593, but the media card is not available.

Has anyone else seen this behavior?

I did this upgrade on Saturday afternoon. The battery life on it is only at 50% right now after almost 48 hours, and that's with moderate usage. So there is a huge improvement on the battery life for my unit, which was already great to begin with. I've also noticed about a 35% improvement in the processing speed, i.e. navigating menus and what not. Glad I did it.
