Angry Birds now on PlayBook

In case anyone was waiting with baited breath....

Three versions, the original, Rio and Seasons, are now in App World for the PB.

I try not to eat bait so I don't have baited breath....

The reviews of the app are very positive as far as performance. Folks don't seem too thrilled with the price tag of $4.99....

I paid the same price for the "HD" versions on my iPad ...

I played the online flash version with Firefox for about 5 minutes one day. That satisfied whatever urges I felt to play the game.

I play it on (rather played, i beat it with 3 stars on each) Google+

why pay for a similar or identical version?

I downloaded Rio. The graphics are awesome. And it's very smooth, fluid. It's a lot better than playing it on my iPod Touch.

This blows my mind. I have come to the conclusion that people think of price in terms of screen size. In other words, $50 for a computer game is generally ok because it's played on a bigger screen. But for cell phones and tablets? Small screen is supposed to mean small price. People so easily forget (or just don't give a damn) that it takes skill to write software regardless of the target screen size (and sometimes more skill for the smaller screens).

*shakes head*

Agreed. And when you put it in the perspective of skipping 1 venti white chocolate mocha.... then it's not really that much. The programs take HOURS to create/test/debug, etc. If someone thinks they can do it better, faster, cheaper, more power to them! And I, along with everyone here, will b!tich when they don't release it for free.

I do think 4.99 is a lot for the game, especially when there are 3 different versions, and they are all 4.99 each. that's $15 if you decide to buy all 3. Its a good thing i dont care too much for the game, but i dont think they will sell alot here.. what makes it worse is the game is free on android devices..

sounds like Blackberry users are taking it on the chin again.

If its free on Android, then it will be free with OS2

In the mean time I'm back to Snow Bomber LOL

It appears that Angry Birds is free on Android because it is ad-supported. No thanks. I'll pay the $5 to have an ad-free experience. And as for believing that the games won't sell many copies... think again. Angry Birds is a hugely popular franchise. No way it won't do well.

Ditto! The 3 Angry Birds apps are the top paid apps on the PlayBook now and all have 5 star reviews. I don't think the price is stopping anyone who really wants the games.

I sprung for 2 of the 3 versions and they work like a charm! I think it's worth it and have earned the 5-star rating. I don't mind paying the price in exchange for a decent and stable app. Looks really sharp on the PB without those cheesy ads as seen on the Android versions.
