Replace the device, not the trackpad.

This is not correct advice. The phone has been dropped, and there is other damage in the device.

Well , from my side , I went through 2 track pads in the duration of one year , found out the problem was my cover. By my third track pad I stopped using the cover and no troubles whatsoever . My phone even took a few falls and still okay

Also , while my track pas was giving trouble , and it didn't pick up my thumb so I had to use a cloth , but this made my phone autoboot everytime I tried using the track pad

The cost (and hassle) of replacing the trackpad makes simply buying a new device a more palatable option, unless you're a master tinkerer and love these kinds of projects.

And you never know what else was broken during a fall.
