New BB user...internet problems! help?!
 

Right so last week I bought a Vodafone Blackberry Pearl 9105 3G, but had it unlocked to my Orange sim card.

I then had to call orange up and add the blackberry internet service to my current contract. I understood that then, i could do pretty much everything my old Android phone could do.

However, when i try to go on anything through my browser when im out and about, it comes up "This is a wifi service." etc....
How can it need wifi, when it is just general internet?! This is stupid! this means i cannot use my internet unless im linked to wifi?

My facebook app works fine using the 3g connection, as does pingchat. however liveprofile (messaging app) only seems to work on wifi too...im starting to think a BB was a bad idea.

Does this mean that i can only use the browser and some apps when at home?! Help!

Also, people say they have added my PIN on BBM but i have no requests?! ill blame the internet again!

Pull the battery for a few minutes and then after it reloads log into the BIS site and resend the service books. If the carrier DID add the BB data plan you should not be having this issue.

Perhaps your browser is still set to HOTSPOT as default, which will only use wi-fi.
