Volume Control Not Working

Folks
I am on .247 and have an issue with the volume control. The volume control does not work with the Media Player or with the phone with the headset on. The volume control does work in handset mode.

Does anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions?

When was the last time that it worked and have you made any settings change to the phone ?

Last time it worked

The last time it worked was about 1 month ago prior to upgrading to .244. I thought the upgrade to .247 may solve the issues but hasnt.

I dont believe I have changed any settings on the phone.

Has your phone been dropped in water ?

ratnamg 04-16-2009 02:03 PM

No. I have not dropped the phone in the water.

Pull the battery! Worked for me.

odd question but have you taken it apart recently? and reassembled it?
because around a month ago when i added a new track ball to my bold, i forgot to push in the volume controller in enough and it wasn't making contact with the motherboard,
i took it apart made sure it was tightly in there and it worked flawlessly!

I have taken the battery out a few times and it has not worked.

I have not taken it apart. I wouldnt know how to do that :)

If I press the volume key when typing an email the key seems to be resulting in the letter N being typed.

sorry to be late to the party on this one, but i just noticed this happens to me as well... the only thing I have done differently is upgrade the OS to .247... if I am using my BT earpiece then the volume control on the ear piece it self work to control the volume, but nothig else... I guess this is fully related to the OS unless someoe else can offer another solution short of switching OS... this and the escalating volume setting alarms still hasnt been fixed - but thats a different topic...

Have you left your phone in the bathroom while you showered or have you used your phone when you were sweating because if a lot of moisture builds up in your phone, then some keys stop working or do not function properly.
