Latest OS: 9800 6.0.0.3106/6.0.0.723 (all languages)

BlackBerry Handheld Software v6.0.0.3106 (all language)
Will install to any carrier's 9800 model by following the instructions below.

Package Version: 6.0.0.3106
Consisting of:

Applications: 6.0.0.723
Software Platform: 6.6.0.248
File name: 9800jAllLang_PBr6.0.0_rel3106_PL6.6.0.248_A6.0.0.7 23_ SK_Telecom_.exe
File size: 192.66MB

Note: The Software Platform and Applications version numbers can be found under Options-About screen on the handheld.

Download the OS file here: https://swdownloads.blackberry.com/D...555D5276633BEE

Note: This webpage is in Korean, but my browser remembered all the field contents from before, so I was able to download it. If someone knows the URL for an English version of the download page, please provide.

Instructions for installing on the 9800:
1. Download the above OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml." Vista/Win7 users: In the apploader folder, simply click on "Compatibility files" to see the actual Vendor.xml file. Once you've got that - simply delete the vendor.xml file there (even if you've deleted or think you've deleted it in the folder previously) and voila, it will allow you to update to the newly installed OS!
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

The process may take up to 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a black "BlackBerry" screen with a status bar for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."
If, for some reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to the PC again and run Loader.exe again, and it should load the OS to the device.

Yes; it was released by a Korean carrier. The files always include English.

My device is not restarting. Actually it "restarts" and gets stuck on the black screen and the BlackBerry logo, with the progress indicator at full, but for thirty minutes no further progress.

Help please...

Thanks

I just picked up a 9800 for a friend. I am installing this OS as I type. Will report back when I know for sure.

I am having problems with apploader. Weird, I had to revert back to 600 (Rogers), I may just try a leaked version.

You are not the only one. I just checked, there is no option for Compose PIN.

In order to enable the PIN (BB) messages, you neeed to first open the BBmessanger and agree to the user agreement, after that close and open the text app and the Compose -> BBM option will be back.

PIN (Peer to Peer) Messages and BBM (Blackberry Messenger) messages are two different things.

If this is happening when you load the new OS, you may want to try disconnecting your device from your PC, and reconnecting it again, not sure if that will help you, but I have had to do that a few times over the years with various BlackBerrys.
