Re: Blackberry Classic stays connected to network but loses internet access
Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this discussion. I agree with aiHarkness that we have tried everything we could think of and in the end we are unable to resolve the problem. I did pursue the option of downgrading the BB10 OS but I could only go back as far as BB10.3.3.2049 which is very close to what the phone had in the first place. Every older version I tried came up as a "blocked OS".
After the downgrade the phone had the same issues. It's disappointing not to fix the problem because I liked a lot of what I found in the phone. I certainly appreciate all the time and suggestions tsac and aiHarkness put into this and am grateful for this forum for giving me the chance to discuss the problem with others. Again, a hearty "thank you' and it was a pleasure working with you all. |

Sorry the issue could not be resolved but as others have said, Blackberry has abandoned the OS10 and virtually all the older phones. I also have issue with the lack of upgrade for android support. I do like the phones and will resist changing until the last possible minute.

Wow That site does have some real wacko's They mostly did back and forth fighting. If you read between the lines they suggest using different channels for the cell phone. My understanding is the channels are not open to selection on the cell phone beyond the regional areas.
Devices that use 802.11b and 802.11g can be tuned to one of 11 channels in North America, 13 channels in Europe. If you experience interference from overlapping wireless networks, each network should use one of the non-overlapping channels. These are channels 1, 6 & 11 in USA. Channels 1, 7 & 13 in Europe. This may not help with the problems we have been playing with but who knows. good site for router info knotty. |

Re: Blackberry Classic stays connected to network but loses internet access
Ok another thought. The general ip address used on a cell phone are ( can be ) static and in most cases works without any issues. such as 192.168.1.71. If the router has issues with the address it will connect but not allow data to flow. It might help to check and if in static mode switch to DHCP mode. This will allow the phone to ask for an address that's available.
APN issues without a carrier data service the other issue could be the APN used on the phone. The explanation is long so I listed a link to show the steps to change or check. https://apn.gishan.net/en/apn/att/blackberry-classic This is ATT stuff so check with your carrier if different. |
