9 Digit alpha numeric PIN instead of 8

Hi.
We recently purchased three new 8830's for our staff. When I do a PIN lookup, I get a 9 digit alpha numeric code rather than 8. However, the BB will only allow an 8 digit code when entering in contacts information.

Should we be eliminating one of the digits?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

John

You might have one of those newer 8830's which are called 8830m. They ran out of 8-digit codes, apparently. Maybe a software fix is imminent?

Go to the main icon screen and hold ALT and type EACE. See what shows there for PIN/ESN (DEC and HEX)
