Maybe were getting too old and forgetful. I never thought of the firewall setting also.:-(

Is there some difference between text messages sent from websites and text messages from ordinary users ? Is there some setting on my Torch 9810 that I must set in order to receive text messages sent from websites ?

Text messages sent to a cell phone's number are usually received. you can try a test yourself. There a few sites that will send text messages from your computer. One is Google voice. There are others.
