Help with WhatsApp?
 

Dear Forumers,

I have downloaded and installed WhatsApp 4.6 but it gets stuck at the "Registering" part.

Here is a screen shot of the error:

OOPS! I can not post a link since I have less than 10 posts but it gets stuck where it says "Registering..............." and it keeps making endless dots.

I also tried installing version 4.5 but it gets stuck in the second process (TCP/BIS Check), and later versions (4.7 and 5.0) don't even work.. they just give me this error: "Error starting whatsapp: Class 'net.rim.device.api.ui.Touch Screen' not found".

Please help me.

My carrier is MobinilEgy and I am using a Curve 8520.

Moved to Aftermarket Software

Thank you for moving it. I'm pretty new and I don't know the sections well.

I really hope someone can help me with this. Things were much easier with my iPhone, I am starting to miss it already. Especially since the BlackBerry browser is, in all honesty, crappy. Opera Mini is even worse.

What OS are you running? Are you getting WhatsApp from AppWorld?

You cannot install 4.7 or 5.0 software on a 4.5 device.

Have you tried setting your carrier APN info in the device? It sounds to me like the app cannot connect to its registration server.

I never got it from App Worldbecause I can not install App World on my device for some reason. It says something like "Your device is not supported" or what ever.

Dougsg38p, I am pretty sure my carrier's APN info is there and just fine since I can do pretty much everything else on the internet using my device.

How can I update to 5.0?

I successfully installed App World using a method on the internet (can't post link here because I don't have 10 posts yet).

However, I can not download WhatsApp using it as Paid For applications are not available for my country. :(

I HOPE SOMEONE CAN HELP ME. I DOWNLOADED THE BETA FROM WHATSAPP.
When I installed it in my ipod touch I had no problems whatsoever.
Now I have a BB 8520 Curve and my problem is that it can't sent an sms to my device, it gives an error.....so there is no way to execute the programm. I sent a mail to whatsapp, and they sent me troubleshooting tips, but not even going through the whole list I can make whatsapp work. Someone please to light my day..... thanks......
