Cannot start storm, restarts again during boot

Hi,

I cannot start my Storm 9500, when I insert the battery, it starts booting process and after around 2 minutes while on white screen with waiting cursor it gives message "Jump to Restart", and again automatically starts the boot process with red led. It keeps on doing this.

For more information:
All latest OS updates through BDM were already installed. There were no freezes or unexpected reboots before this, it was running perfectly alright. The last application I installed was "Funambol Plugin For BlackBerry Device V.3.0.8" that made my phone slow after email sync through this app. Thats why I thought to remove battery and reboot, but it never came back.

[Phone is Unlocked], not using [BIS/BES], Last time I turned off "Data Services" from Network Options. Removed battery for several minutes, tried to boot without SIM, but same failure.

Please help... Any way to hit reset key on the phone

I would try to wipe the phone and re-install the OS.
You can use a tool like jlcmdr or Blackberry Swiss Army Knife to do this.

Thank you for the reply, I will look for these softwares. Can I do the same thing with "AppLoader.exe" which is installed with Desktop Manager.

And one important question. My phone is unlocked (Vodaphone). If I re-install OS then it will again lock the phone or not. Should I download OS from Vodaphone website?

Thanks in advance, please help

You can download the Vodafone OS but it is not a requirement, any OS designed for the 9500 will work from any carrier. I also use a Vodaphone unlocked 9500 and have updated the OS countless times, without any issues.

here's the link to the latest official OS and installation instructions to follow:

And Since you are unable to boot the phone, after you have installed the apploader, run apploader.exe, then move to the screen where it displays the Blackberry's PIN. Now connect the blackberry to the pc, whilst connected remove the battery and push it back in. in apploader the PIN should read "unknown", once you see that, click next and proceed with installation.

Make sure the OS you loaded is compatible with you Storm version.
