OS: 9700 6.0.0.1478/6.0.0.380 (Multilanguage)

BlackBerry Handheld Software v6.0.0.1478 (Multilangauge)

Package Version: 6.0.0.1478
Consisting of:

* Applications: 6.0.0.380
* Software Platform: 6.6.0.86
* File name: 9700jAsia_PBr6.0.0_rel1478_PL6.6.0.86_A6.0.0.380_V odafone_Essar_Limited.exe
* File size: 150.12MB

Note: The Software Platform and Applications version numbers can be found under Options-About screen on the handheld.

* Download Software: https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...356FCC56D801D1

Instructions for installing on ANY carrier's 9700:

1. Download the above OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml." Vista/Win7 users: In the apploader folder, simply click on "Compatibility files" to see the actual Vendor.xml file. Once you've got that - simply delete the vendor.xml file there (even if you've deleted or think you've deleted it in the folder previously) and voila, it will allow you to update to the newly installed OS!
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a black "BlackBerry" screen with a status bar for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."
If, for some reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to the PC again and run Loader.exe again, and it should load the OS to the device.

For the previous OS, see this link: http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...a-english.html

I just did a regular upgrade, just a backup and upgrade. This is an official release. Follow directions above.

Re: Latest OS: 9700 6.0.0.1478/6.0.0.380 (Multilanguage)

Just installed.

Problem! This has exactly the same problems as the leaked OS6 358/380 build had.

1. No SMS cursor
2. No BBM cursor
3. Non-Smooth Scrolling in SMS message header page
4. Less free Memory than the latest 424 leaked build.
5. Cursor dissappears in the OPTIONS if you scroll to the bottom>
6. AAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHH.
7. ITS RUBBISH. ITS THE 380 beta build in an Official Wrapper.
8. DO NOT INSTALL IF YOU HAVE THE NEWER OS6 BETA 424 build. You will regret it!

Official Release? This is a VERY BAD Official Release.

Not impressed.

Can someone confirm my findings?

so.let's see...for me, still slow booting time, even i don't have almost nothing else than the basic apps.then...free mem=90,59 from 125 as i used to have with me previous os.app center not work error 404,word to go version 2.0005 says it is incompatible with this os, so far...hmmm...it looks good, i admit, but...my gps works by the way.so i am gonna check further about battery life.and other issues, if there are.

Your welcome Pow,

I really CANNOT understand RIM giving this particular Carrier this 'Bugged' and 'Totally Porked' BETA version. Where is their sense.????

BB just WENT DOWN a notch or 2 in my books. Shabby release.

Oh Well, plenty of other Smartphones on the Market.

Good luck RIM digging your way out of this one.

Use BBSAK to wipe clean. Then install OS5 latest. Then your 3rd Party Stuff.

Have installed all the OS6betta version. Currently running 6.0.0.424 and it is much improved from the beta 6.0.0.380.

Don't despair and give it another chance. I am very happy so far with the latest beta release. Makes for an improved BB9700 experience

Re: Latest OS: 9700 6.0.0.1478/6.0.0.380 (Multilanguage)

there are definately some serious memory leak issues with this release. at least for me anyway... not running anything extra in the background and available memory just keeps dropping...

i think I'm going to hop on the 424 beta later today.

424 is later but still in beta. 380 is an "official" release but from the sound of things it seems like rim just released the 380 beta as an official release for this carrier
