ATT.BlackBerry.net Email Account Sends But Does Not Receive Emails
The title speaks for itself. I do not receive emails to my ATT.BlackBerry.net account, but I can send an email from there without problem. I can receive and send emails to other email accounts such as gmail, Y! mail or Hotmail accounts. Is there anything I can do to fix this, or should I simply wait until the problem fixes itself?

I recommend getting rid of it anyway. BB will be discontinuing those email acconts soon.

Oh, no! Isn't the carrier.blackberry.net address known for its high security? I understand that this address is dedicated to device only, thus a higher level of security.
Anyhow, I finally got the problem solved. The people at AT&T customer support couldn't solve the problem, but the fault was finally fixed after nearly two hours of troubleshooting from the people at the highest level of tech support at both AT&T and Blackberry in a conference call, and I mean talking to people directly involved with the software that runs Blackberry. It was quite baffling to everyone, because why could I send email, yet not receive from att.blackberry.net? The fault lies in my Blackberry ID, that the username is based on an obscure email service (email.com) that I have been using way back in the last millenium. The Blackberry server does not jive with that email account, so I had to change my username (options -> device -> Blackberry ID) to something more familiar (gmail) to the Blackberry system. After changing from email to gmail for my username, I could now set up my ATT.Blackberry.net account, and it now works. The fix took about maybe fifteen minutes, but identifying the problem took over 90 minutes. It took a while, but the problem is now fixed. |

More than a few are still using those email addys with BlackBerry 10, so BB is going to have to give people lots of notice when they finally decide to kill it.

Re: ATT.BlackBerry.net Email Account Sends But Does Not Receive Emails
Those accounts are already disabled for BB10 users. I miss mine as it was a secure account that could only be accessed from my BlackBerry itself. Of course there are pitfalls, like no spam filtering and loss of access should you change carriers.
First, try a battery pull for a minute or so. Next step would be to double-check your settings against the recommended settings from AT&T. Finally, you can try deleting the account and re-adding it. |

No they aren't Rambo. People who already use a hosted BB email account are still able to forward those emails to their BB10 device.

That's correct. They can still be used. I may have been slightly wrong in stating they were discontinuing all of them. They are offering one year of forwarding. I guess you'll still be able to use it on legacy devices.

Re: ATT.BlackBerry.net Email Account Sends But Does Not Receive Emails
When I had Sprint service I didn't set up forwarding and Sprint told me I was just plain out of luck. My BIS account disappeared quickly and was apparently "unrecoverable". Perhaps if I set up a BB7 device that would have been different.
