Need to unlock your Bold 2? No problem. Horizon Wireless can do it.

Some of you already know, but unlocking the new Bold 9700 is no problem via Horizon Wireless.

I just had mine done and had the code in no time!

Can anyone explain how unlocking a phone works and why there are so many companies that do it? Do these companies have to pay to get these codes and thats why there is a market for it or what? I remember unlocking phones when I was just starting college and it was some simple stuff you just looked up online and entered.

Can Horizon unlock a Digicel BB 8520

Raptor464 11-19-2009 01:27 PM

I'll tell you something Horizon Wireless can't do. Make a T-mobile 9700 work on At&t 3G, or vice versa. ;)

PDM 11-24-2009 05:28 PM

@Tom : how much did you end up paying for the service?

Just can't see anything for TMob UK...

Two-Timer 12-14-2009 06:40 AM

I gave my at&t BlackBerry to my brother who has T-Mobile. at&t's customer service didn't have a problem helping me unlock the BlackBerry,

$45 CAD for a Bell 9700, yet $13 for a Rogers unlcck?? grrr...

PS I have no doubt they're a great provider, but their site is need a bit of a makeover.

alphasports 12-30-2009 06:46 PM

Yeah their website is astonishingly bad...but I hear good things about their service

the 9700 has a more involved unlock process than other BB's

yes the codes are generally purchased by unlock providers

BB cant be simply hooked up to a computer, each BB has its own uniques unlock code

The 9700 on BELL does. I'm told on Rogers it only requires one unlock code.

We should get a group of folks together and all pitch in for an order of bulk unlock codes

They hooked me up nice and fast as they always have in the past. Nothing but the best service from the fine folks there.

For the poster that mentioned unlocking a BELL 9700... can it really be unlocked? I had a Bell 8830 (just got my 9700 today) and I was never able to get it unlocked.

It requires 2 codes but it can be unlocked.

Jarrod623 01-21-2010 08:04 PM

If it can be unlocked Horizon can do it!

I don't want to start a war but I paid 2.59USD to have a BB Bold 9700 unlocked by an eBay seller. I sent them the model number and IMEI number and got the instructions and unlock code in about 20 minutes.

It was an ATT BB 9700 and it worked with Tmobile but of course not with Tmobile's 3G network.

chargedbird 03-25-2010 12:30 PM

What is the main reason to unlock the phone?? the only pro I see is for international traveling...

Comments or Suggestions?
