Contact Access w/o Blackberry

Hi I'm currently traveling and lost my Blackberry. Now I'm trying to look at my contacts which I have synced with the the Desktop software ( Version 2.4.0.) Does somebody know how?

Were your contacts "synced" or simply backed up? If they were synced to a program like Outlook they should be visible in the Contacts tab of that program.

You might be able to use ABC Amber Converter to open a backup file on your pc and read the email addresses.

@rambo47 I haven't been able to download ABC Amber C. because I use a Mac, but yes I am looking for a way to open the backed up files to get to the phone numbers because I haven't synced the contacts. I'm surprised they don't open in the Desktop software.

Backup files are not designed to be opened at all. They're designed for restoring after wiping a BlackBerry or after changing devices. To access your information on your BlackBerry via computer you are expected to sync it with Outlook or some other program(s).

Microsoft now makes Outlook for Mac: Outlook for Mac : Email, Contact and Information Manager | Office For Mac
I don't know if BlackBerry Desktop Software supports syncing to the Mac version though. There should be a way to sync your BlackBerry contacts with AddressBook.app on your Mac. It's been so long since I've used a BB7 device that I really don't remember how.

There is an old discussion on CrackBerry about this, highlighting some issues folks have: http://forums.crackberry.com/mac-use...s-book-387367/
