Colonel, that question has never been asked before and I doubt if it has ever come up in any of our sections.

But if you use the SEARCH feature or read the FAQ, you might find your answer:

Don't know. If it's different than any of the examples in the FAQ, odds are it's already been discussed on the forum. Have you searched?

looked in the 8100 and there is this:

however it talks about the "ALT" key which I don't have (I have numeric pad version)

Verified:

1. Turn off the Wireless Radio
2. Next go to Settings > Options > Advanced Options > SIM Card
3. Press: 63373
4. Press:63372
5. You should see a dialogue where you can put in a 16 digit code and 10 tries to punch it in correctly.
6. After you enter in the code, press Enter.
7. It should say xxx8220;Device Unlockedxxx8221; and you have an unlocked Blackberry.

Yes there is. There is a clear instruction for the 8100. Your 9100 would be done in the same method. How do I unlock my BlackBerry? - BlackBerryFAQ

I have never seen a 9100 without an ALT key. As per this screenshot:

It is the first key on the bottom row.

TBH I do not know what you mean by "numeric pad"

no, the 8100 method does not work on the 91xx

jadey, the 9105 is like the picture colonel posted.
The 9100 is the larger keypad with an ALT key, the 9105 is the smaller keypad without an ALT key.

It is indeed confusing in view of the 9105 having a keypad and not a keyboard, and there is no Alt key.

However, when you insert a "foreign sim card" (from another provider than the one that the system is locked to), you get automatically prompted to unlock. -- That's how I unlocked my 9105.
