The size of the IM app(s) in App world

I noticed that google talk is 1.5MB when downloading from the app world... but its less than 500KB when downloaded from RIM's website. I haven't checked the other apps as my phone is rebooting from reinstalling GTalk from RIM. Anyone know why there is such a huge size difference?
