BB device software, windows installer issue
 

Windows XP Pro – SP3

Downloaded the new 5.0 Desktop software and tried installing but after the package extracts itself I get a Windows Installer window that shows a bunch of switch commands. After searching the forums I performed the trick to open the installer package with Winzip and extract the installer files manually. I then ran through the extracted setup file and everything turned out just fine.

Now I am installing the 4.1.7 Device software and it too gave me the same Windows Installer message. However I tried to open this file in Winzip and tried changing the extension from .exe to .zip but I get ‘invalid archive’. Anyone have any ideas?
