Blackberry messenger not working
 

I'm the owner of a Blackberry 8520 and when I want to add a BBM(5.0.0.57) contact and I type in the PIN adress of the person, it keeps saying 'pending' but the person I added never received an invitation. I repeatedly added the person but without any improvement. I don't know if it matters that I live in Europe (Belgium) and the person I wanted to add lives in Asia (United Arab Emirates), but can anyone help me out please? :-(

You both have blackberry data plans?

I dont know about the other person but i don't have it i think. it's my first blackberry and I haven't got it for very long and I'm not sure what a data plan is.. even after reading stuff about it on the internet.. is it necessary to have it?

You must have a BB data plan to use BB messenger, email, Facebook, the BB browser,and other apps requiring a data connection to RIM.

And a generic data plan is not what you need. Call the carrier and have them properly activate your device and add a BB data plan. The data plan in the US is around $30 a month.

And also, please update your profile to include your cell carrier. that is good information for us to have if and when you have a problem.
