Beta 5.0.0.411 for 8900 leaked....

Leaked OS 5.0.0.411 For The BlackBerry Curve 8900 And Bold 9000 [Operating System] | Operating System (os) | BlackBerry Rocks! and others refer to a Megaupload link.

But the Megaupload is "Temporarily Unavailable" MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service

So, did anyone get it while it was available?

trlightning 12-08-2009 09:17 PM

The link is active for me... downloading now as I type.

Working now for me, too.

It seems that BlackBerry Curve 8900 OS 5.0.0.411 Leaked! - BlackBerry Leaks - Blackberry news, software, videos, info, reviews, previews may have been one of the first sites to report the leak.

PS: Got it.

I'm very hesitant to dl this version since .348 has been so stable for me. I'll be curious to hear about any changes.

Here's another working download link:

Anyone run into any major annoyances/problems with .411
Any differences on performance compared to .348 or .314?
Worth updating?

AZsteelman 12-10-2009 12:47 PM

Yeah, .348 has been flawless for me...hard to want to change until I hear something...

Have an 8900, upgraded from .348 to .411 yesterday, now OperaMini 4.2 will not load or run. Deleted, downloaded another copy, loaded .cod with BBSAK as well as DM, still no change. That's my issue. (Using Bolt 1.6 as my "spare".) Any solutions? Also ...

BBM .52 won't load, keep getting "the little camera of death" about 80% through the download. Multiple times with multiple mirrors for two days. Oy, giving up on that one...

rmoise 12-10-2009 04:52 PM

Loaded .411 two days ago and battery life is awful AWFUL I tell you!!! Going back to .348 - FYI all my apps worked with no problem on .411 but only difference I saw was the the Flag for Follow up.

ricpac 12-10-2009 07:16 PM

Flag for Follow Up was already in .348..

SMS Delivery Notifications are back up and working in .411

I've uploaded to .411 on my T-Mobile 8900, but it was only a few hours ago. So far, all apps are working, although Opera Mini appears to be back in generic java phone mode, rather than BB mode. It's too early to say anything about battery life or stability, but I'll update this thread with any future observations. The installation was seamless. I installed over .348 without BBSAK wiping (BBSAK isn't working for some reason) with no problem.

Quick update: I can confirm that phone calls on UMA are still distorted, though not quite as badly as with .348.

Battery life seems okay, so far today, under normal usage conditions.

I have more free memory upon reboot than I did with .348--Not a huge difference, and not terribly significant, given the ample memory of the 8900, but worth mentioning.

I am seeing some slight graphical glitches. Am I the only one seeing this? I have my theme from GemBlock, the iBerry bottom Dock theme. It's always worked fine for me but upon installing 411, when I scroll thru some menu options, the selections become blocky and have never seen this in 348 or any other OS for that matter. This is only on making selections like under things like "Manage Network Connections" or other things where a selection screen pops up. But not under the regular menu's that you would normally select from.

Is anyone else seeing this?

Wirelessly posted (Blackberry 8900)

I have seen this oddity also. It must be a bug with this version.

My delivery notifications for SMS do not work tough the option is set to yes any one else with this issue?

rtbrjason 12-15-2009 11:08 AM

Seems to run well here for the most part. What I am noticing is that my "EDGE" indicator is mostly showing as "edge". It's been like this for several days so I'm not sure if it's an outage or an issue with this latest build.

studum 12-15-2009 11:51 AM

One thing I've noticed:

when streaming mp3's via BT to my head unit in my car the signal can get randomly interrupted.

Other than that it's been great. Quick, faster browser, no other complaints. No confirmation on sms delivery with me. Pretty much made it seem like a new phone compared to what I was using.

This is my first 5.0 os on this phone.

Is this what other users are experiencing? I really want to upgrade to 5.0, but I can't until UMA is working.
