BB can not edit forwards or replies!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just sent out some emails from work and had a request from 3rd person for the email

Thought I would just copy/paste/edit the original email but it wont copy links, formatting, etc

No Probs just forward the original to him

BB wont let you edit the original message - What!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thats totally insane

Stuffed either way now - Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Any BB writers reading - this is not rocket science

You can edit replies just fine. You cannot edit forwards. When forwarding a message, one would think you wouldn't need to edit it. That's the point in forwarding, right?

There are a number of 3rd party apps on AppWorld that can add that functionality to your BlackBerry. $2.99 or such.

Not at all hence you can edit fw emails (except on bb)
You very rarely forward email in entirety

I'm very reluctant to use apps over native software but in this case there's no alternative

I would think doing any type of edit on an original email might lend itself to a bit of confusion and not be something proper. Imagine sending an email and some dink doing an edit and totally changing the content to make you look bad. not good!!
I realize it can be done on a pc but remember the BB is designed primarily as a business tool with a lot of thought in accuracy and security.

Look for an app called "Forward with Edit" on BB App World. I think its $2.99.

Sure it did. Thats why you cannot do it.

The biggest reason I know to edit a forward... is to eliminate a CC: list from the original e-mail. Lots of people don't like to see their email address forwarded to people they don't know. That's the main reason I edit a forward.

That was key reason in my case. Original had a lot of business e.addresses which I couldn't forward to another business

Who said anything about defending? All I was asking is how you would know RIM's decision making process. At first I thought maybe you were some developer for RIM with inside information. Now I understand that it is purely a speculation on your part.

Not sure these still apply but look at these posts.

One way to edit a forward is to copy the original, paste into your forward and edit that. Not the cleanest but it can be done. You could open with a disclaimer like "original meesage edited...."

Its called Christmas meathead and I suppose you think Santa does not exist as well!!
