I purchased a 7100g from Suncom and got the full service. I just got off the phone with them and they told me that they do not support uploading ringtones or images to any blackberries....... (n) Distressing. Is there a way to download ringtones from 3rd party providers, or to create your own? How about pictures? How do you get these things from your computer to your phone?

If the service provider doesn't allow it, you can't do it...so give up on downloading ringtones. As for pics, email them to your blackberry. Check out some of the FAQ's and stickies here in the General BB forum, as well as the RIM and Aftermarket software forums for some general BB info, as I see you're new to these forums. There's tons of helpful info in there! Good luck, and enjoy your new toy!!

I have Suncom too. Just upgraded my phone to 4.1 so I can download themes. Can also install from Desktop Manager. Also, you can send certain tones to your phone via MMS. Will be able to save also.

From which carrier did you get the 4.1 update? Have you had any "issues" with it so far?

Our OS 4.1 update should be out in the near future.
