Microsoft buys Nokia's devices unit in 7.2 billion bid
Beleaguered Finnish company Nokia announced on Tuesday the sale of its mobile phone unit to Microsoft for 5.44 billion euros ($7.17 billion), bringing an end to its days as a phone maker.

I thought I read somewhere that WP had already taken the number three spot. BB was down to fourth.

N4BB is running the story that Microsoft might still be interested in BlackBerry. The brass ring with BlackBerry is their patents for elliptical curve encryption. And that's one thing WP is lacking - security. Microsoft could make some noise with a DoD-certified operating system on Lumia phones.
