Anyone running this? I've just started the trial from App World. I've a 9700 with 5.0.0.680 firmware, and I have some observations:
- It breaks the auto-backlight timeout. Once the application is run for the first time (and even if it's exited) the backlight never times out. This can only be restored with a reboot
- There is no annoucement when GPS coverage is lost, as it does when switching away from the application (or just in bad coverage). I have missed turnings not being aware that I was not to expect an instruction. Even just a tone to indicate in/out of coverage would be good
- When out of a holster, the backlight stays on when the app is active, draining power. There should at least be an option to have the backlight go off (and maybe coming on just before/after an audio direction)
- The fonts on the screen are unnecessarily small. This seems a failing of many routing apps for phones, yet something that's understood by competitors like TomTom.
The power management issue of the normal backlight function being perminantly disabled issue 1 (bug?) is a show stopper for me, and issue 2 is close to that.
Anyone else experiencing the same... ?
