Tip to Sys Engineers who want to remote into servers

So I just tried TSMobiles and RDM+.

RDM+ is not an option to me because it required installing something on each server to work.
TSMobiles works, but at least on the blackberry 8830, it's annoying that clicking the pearl button doesn't do a mouse click. You have to hit the menu button, select mouse, click, confirm, etc. It also has problems with scrolling.

What I found. Assuming you have citrix, Idokorro makes a citrix client(not free). This connects to citrix(realize it's connecting from the BES server, so use your internal ip addresses.). Then all you have to do is publish mstsc.exe to your domain admins, and wala, you now have remote access to your servers from your blackberry. Select to zoom out once you connect and it works pretty good.

Citrix Systems » Citrix Ready Products » Idokorro » Idokorro Mobile Citrix Client

You can also use Idokorro's Mobile Desktop.

Except that publishing mstsc allows you RDP to any machine with remote enabled (which is the default from Microsoft).

Mobile Desktop requires an install on every server that you want to access.

Mobile Desktop does not require an install on every server, it does not require any install whatsoever on the backend, you simply need to have RDP enabled on the computers you want to connect to.

Mobile Desktop is an RDP client that run on BlackBerry, there is no need to publish mstsc with Citrix either, it is better to simply run Mobile Desktop directly from the BlackBerry and connect directly to your computers with RDP.

If you have any questions please contact our support team at [email address] .

Thank you,

Wirelessly posted (NXTL7520: BlackBerry8800/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

I am a long time and happy customer of SonicAdmin, which recently got acquired by Avocent and now is EOL! (Pissed). Current customers can still use it with no implied/expressed warranty. I have 100% remote control of all servers, users, and clients w/o a client install
