New Blackberry user with a few questions

Hey guys, Im currently setting up my boss' blackberry. I already had to move over her Treo information with Palm Desktop to Outlook (that took a day...) and now Im trying to get it working with her rather stringent specifications.

First, She wants to be able to see old calendar dates. Any way at all I can do this? This is a must she claims.

Second, in setting up the email... she doesn't use Outlook, she uses Eudora. I entered in her email address but its not getting any mail. Also, any way to send read messages to the phone?

I've done a quick search through the forums, but it seems the more specific I get, I don't get results. Ive searched "calendar" and "email" but neither pull up helpful results.

Thanks so much for your time and please be patient with a guy who's been trying to set up a device that isn't even his, nor does it follow his job description =/

I'm a student that needs the money. I've been looking for a job for the past year and it pays well and for the most part I have alot of time to study. It works. But that's something else.

You might want to start over at BlackBerry 101:
BlackBerry - Welcome To BlackBerry101

It has instructions on how to add/setup email accounts, and sync calendar, address book. etc.

I dont believe they have a 101 for the 8310, just the 8300, however, it seems really similar to the instruction manual. I set up an email as they said, but its still not receiving email. Perhaps she gave a bad password, but I doubt it.

and I have no problem syncing current/future calendar dates, but I dont know how to display old ones.

It sounds like you're using outlook for the calendar, so go into your BB Desktop Manager, select Synchronize. In that new window, go to the Configuration tab, select Configure Synch..click on Calendar, then the Configure button, Advanced Settings, and you should see an option to Transfer All scheduled items. Select that, then close out and re-synch.

Works for me.

The calendar sync can be done as mentioned above by desktop manager. (So does contacts, notes...) In terms on of e-mail, first question you need to ask yourself is - your company on BES server or is this a personal BIS e-mail account?
