T-mobile and MSN?

I just got my 8310 on ebay unlocked. and my service carrier is t-mobile
is it possible to use MSN with it?

indramilo 12-15-2007 06:21 PM

yes, it's possible, you can use jivetalk, or do a search for other options

go to Instant Messaging, designed exclusively for BlackBerry with your blackberry browser and you will see the link to download Windows Live Messenger. Or you can get jivetalk like the poster above said.

Is that Windows Live Messenger a part of the OZ Messenger application suite?

Good luck

I have an unlocked AT&T 8820 on T-Mobile. I originally wanted OZ because it uses SMS instead of data, and I have unlimited texting. When I couldn't get that to work, I installed Windows Live Messenger from the blackberry website. I think it's designed to be installed OTA only, otherwise the site gives you an error about ActiveX controls or some such.

After running the app, it gave me an error about not having the required service books. After speaking to T-Mobile reps who later handed me over to RIM reps, I was told that since Tmo doesn't have the 8820, they couldn't provision WLM service books for it. And RIM told me service books are unique to each carrier and they couldn't provide me with any.

I loaded the service books using the .ipd file from this thread.

Viola!

I can now log onto MSN Messenger through T-Mobile!

To actually answer your question, yes it's possible. I have an AT&T 8300 unlocked on T-Mobile and I have the Yahoo, AIM, and MSN clients running on my phone. To be honest, it was a major pain doing it, basically, you have to download the clients manually, download the OS you want to run, manually put the IM Client files into the OS (before you upgrade your software) then put a new OS on your phone (with the IM files intact now) then find the service books (I gave them to SpencerCDS and he posted them here for everyone) then put the service books onto your phone, resend service books to get the rest of your books and voila, it will work.

In all honesty, it's best to drop the $$ on Jivetalk
